Q: What is the purpose of the Atlanta Warbird Weekend?
A: To promote the mission of the CAF to the Atlanta community. Preserve, Honor, teach ( CAF Mission )

Q: Is the Atlanta Warbird Weekend an airshow?
A: No the Atlanta Warbird Weekend is a warbird fly-in, rides and education event.

Q: Who is the organizer of the event?
A: The Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is the organizer of the event. To find out more about the Dixie Wing, click HERE

Q: Is the Atlanta Warbird Weekend a free event?
A: The Atlanta Warbird Weekend is a FREE event. There is a parking fee of $ 10.00 CASH ONLY

Q: Can i buy rides in the airplanes?
A: Yes, rides can be purchased HERE )

Q: How are the event proceeds used?
A: Event proceeds cover the expenses associated with producing the weekend and for the ongoing restoration and maintenance of the CAF Dixie Wing's historic aircraft.

Q: Where can we park?
A:Parking lots are located both on the field and in its surroundings for a fee$10.00.  Off field parking will include a shuttle to and from the event. Click HERE to locate the parking lots on the map.

Q: What form of payment do you take for the parking fee?
A: CASH only

Q: Will there be handicapped parking?
A: Yes, there will be handicap parking available . Clink HERE to locate the parking lots on the map.

Q; What are the hours of the event?
A: The hours of the event are Saturday & Sunday from 09:00am - 4:00pm

Q:Are there special activities for veterans?
A: The Dixie Wing will set up a Meet & Greet tent where visitors can interact with Veterans.

Q: Are pets allowed at the event?
A: No, pets are not allowed. For the safety of your pets, please leave them at home.

Q: Are we allowed to bring food and drinks into the event?
A: You can bring your own food and drinks, however food vendors are available on site.

Q:Will there be food and drink vendors at the event?
A: There will be food vendors on site.

Q:Will anything require a fee or donation once inside the event?
A: The event is free however there will be a fee to ride in the airplanes. Donations are welcome.

Q: Will we be able to take tours inside the planes or get close to them?
A: Cockpit tours are available for selected airplanes.

Q:What activities will be available for children?
A: Dekalb-Peachtree Airport has a very nice kids playground with swings and slides.

Q:Where do we park if we have tickets for the Dinner with The Flying Tigers?
A: Parking is available directly at the 57th Fighter Squadron restaurant

Q:Will this event proceed rain or shine?
A: Yes, rain or shine.

Q: Is there an official event hotel? A: Yes, it is the Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area.The guests in our group can directly call Marriott Reservations at 1 (800) 228-9290 or (404) 325-0000 on or before Friday, August 28, 2015, (the “Cutoff Date”) to make their sleeping room reservations. Please make sure to identify yourself as part of the Commemorative Air Force: Dixie Wing group staying at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area, located at 2000 Century Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.
